Futura Retail Solutions AG announced today the certification of Givex’s global gift card solution for Futura4POS, the flexible and scalable checkout system. Through Givex, retailers using Futura4POS will gain access to a full-featured, omnichannel gift card program which provides everything from physical cards to e-vouchers and supports the specialised needs of businesses which span multiple countries, currencies and brands. “Omnichannel is essential to the future of retail,” says Vanjo Wandscher, CEO, Futura Retail Solutions AG. “We’re very glad to work with innovative solution providers such as Givex, whose gift card solution can support the omnichannel experience our retail clients look for when they choose Futura4POS.”
Successful first joint appearance of Futura Retail Solutions and Function One in Hong Kong: The new sales partner of the Hamburg-based system provider is headquartered in the metropolitan city on the south coast of the People's Republic of China. The partners joined forces to prepare their appearance at the international trade show “Retail Asia Expo 2017” in Hong Kong, which meant three days of working full speed on promoting retail technology. Futura's CEO Vanjo Wandscher: “The exhibition visitors knew exactly where they were headed and we had a constant stream of retailers who wanted to talk to us. Many visitors were particularly interested in our digital POS with omnichannel capability.”

Futura retail management software is represented on all continents and has already been installed in more than 20 languages. The Hamburg-based system provider has now gained a new sales partner for the Chinese market. The company Function One is headquartered in Hong Kong and can advise customers both in English and in Mandarin. It is planned to make a first joint appearance at the international trade show Retail Asia Expo 2017. One of the three central topics of the international retail exhibition in Hong Kong will be the latest retail technology.
After analysing the five intensive days at the EuroShop 2017 retail trade fair, Futura Retail Solutions AG strikes a positive balance. “Feasibility and the practical approach to omni-channel and digitalisation solutions topped the list of questions many of our visitors asked”, says Christian Jürs, CSO of the Hamburg-based company. “As we do not only stand out for our top class software but also for our long years of experience gained in various projects in the retail environment, we had many specific and in-depth discussions.”
Expanding discount department store group T J Hughes, which specialises in premium brands and quality products at low prices, has replaced its legacy retail systems with the popular Futura EPOS and retail management solution to modernize systems and optimise performance as the group expands.With some 900 staff and 17 stores across the UK, the Liverpool-based retailer, a much-loved Merseyside institution, added three stores towards the end of 2015 and will continue its expansion this year. New store openings are already planned from June onwards in St Helens on Merseyside and Maidstone in Kent, with others to follow. Futura has been deployed in store across some 190 tills and with 25 users at head-office to provide a robust and modern retail environment, capable of supporting the company’s omni-channel business model. It is known as a high-tech location in the south of Hamburg and will become the new headquarters of Futura Retail Solution AG as of September this year: channel hamburg, a modern ensemble of buildings with a maritime flair, between the channels of the Harburg district of Hamburg. The new location, in immediate proximity to the suburban railway and the university, should render the growth-oriented software company even more attractive as an employer. Futura's CEO Vanjo Wandscher: “The central location in Hamburg-Harburg, with excellent links to the local public transport network, will further enhance our attractiveness as an employer. The close proximity to the Hamburg University of Technology enables us to show career starters which opportunities we can offer to people starting off in work.”
British menswear brand Steel and Jelly, previously available only through selected retail partners, has opened its first flagship store in Birmingham’s new Grand Central shopping centre. Steel and Jelly has selected the Futura EPOS and retail management platform with the goal of supporting future expansion at key shopping destinations and to guarantee real time integration instore and online. Steel and Jelly, which is transitioning its business from a wholesale model to go direct to customers, expects to open at least two more outlets this year, potentially in Bristol and London, to complement its growing online business. The company selected Futura “as a more in depth and complete solution compared to many other EPOS offerings” and one that is fully scalable - more than capable of supporting the brand’s expansion plans.
Celebrated global lifestyle designer brand Santoro, has selected the popular Futura retail management and EPOS solution to spearhead its move onto the UK retail high street, with the opening of its first store in Bath’s Milsom Street.With over 60 international design awards, Santoro’s range of gifts and design-led apparel has previously only been available via boutique spaces in independent and high end retailers such as Harrods, or under license. The move on to the UK high street with its own retail presence celebrates the brand’s 30th anniversary.
The Austrian Bründl Sports Group will modernise their IT processes with Futura software. All of the sports retailer's 23 branches will in future be controlled via the Futura4Retail retail management system. And the Futura4POS EPOS solution will help to enhance the point of sale experience. In modern omnichannel retail environments store staff needs new tools to reduce the gap between online and brick-and-mortar stores. This describes the focus of the new mobile tablet solution from Futura. Store sales people have direct access to real-time stocks from all stores, central warehouse and from the online assortment of the retailer and can offer the most common omnichannel functions like Click&Collect and Click&Reserve. The Krieger Group started a project to renew the infrastructure at the Point-of-Sale and decided to implement Futura4POS in all furniture stores of the Group in Germany. The most well-known brands within the Krieger Group are Möbel Höffner, Möbel Kraft and Sconto SB. A pilot system will be installed in May in one of the 19 Höffner furniture stores.
Karnevalswierts, expanding specialist for fancy dresses and costumes for carnival, relies on Futura's retail management system and POS stations. The family-owned company based in the Netherlands (Heerlen) has equipped their eight branches in the carnival strongholds from Würselen, Cologne to Münster with 5 to 11 Futura4POS systems each. Roll-out in their new shop in Essen has just been completed. The Retail CIO Outlook magazine has listed the company based in Stelle near Hamburg among the “Top 10 Retail Management Systems Solution Providers 2015”. The magazine publishes a yearly list of companies which they regard to be at the forefront of providers of the best retail management solutions and which are therefore likely to influence the market. In an interview with Futura's CEO Vanjo Wandscher, Retail CIO Outlook talks about the range of products and solutions Futura offers.
Expanding fashion brand Cath Kidston, which recently bought its Japanese franchise business of 27 stores back from Sanei International, has consolidated its Japanese retail network utilising Futura’s multi-lingual global EPOS solution.
Implementing new systems and hardware overnight, to ensure business continuity and uninterrupted trading for Japanese customers, was a key requirement for the UK-based management team. Futura4POS was selected because it provides an advanced real-time, multi-lingual, hardware independent retail environment, with the ability to roll out and update from Cath Kidston offices in the UK, in turn limiting the requirement for significant in-country overheads.
A new Futura customer on the international market is the gentlemen's outfitter Bleu Homme in Croatia. The trade name Bleu Homme stands for high-quality, easy-care shirts and accessories for men. The fashionable assortment is sold in the shop in the City Center in Srebeno (near Dubrovnik), through their own online shop and will shortly also be available in a new branch in Zagreb. The Futura4Retail retail management system manages the stock data, Futura4POS is used at the point of sale.
Prof. Dr. Siegfried Jacobs (photo) prepared the 50 or so participants of the 2-day Futura omnichannel event in Stuttgart and Stelle for the basics of omnichannel retailing with the latest analyses. The Managing Director of the German association of the textile retail trade (BTE) pointed out the motives for the omnichannel orientation of retailers, also making it clear that online retail exists and cannot be ignored. But Jacobs also called attention to those customers who research product information online before buying at the local store (ROPO effect).

North Devon-based lifestyle brand Saltrock, which set out selling T-shirts with surfing motifs, has gone live with a new EPOS and head office retail management system from Futura Retail Solutions. The new system will help the brand drive performance across an expanding store network nationally and at the same time support strong UK and International online sales Saltrock, which showcases six new collections a year and expects to expand its existing 40 stores to nearer 75 next year, required a robust multi-channel solution capable of supporting the growing needs of the business and linking both warehouse and online operations in a cohesive enterprise solution.

Morleys Stores, the London-based independent department store group, is extending its Futura retail POS and Head Office solution to integrate systems at its latest store acquisition, Camp Hopson of Newbury in Berkshire.
Founded in 1921, Camp Hopson joins seven other independent department stores under the Morleys Group, including its flagship store Elys of Wimbledon and is expected to help push group sales beyond the £100 million mark for the first time.
Shopping all over Europe just with a single gift card: this objective of the Dutch supplier fashioncheque is now also supported by German developers of POS software. This is the fourth Cath Kidston store in Shanghai to be powered by the new Futura4POS international EPOS and merchandise management solution.
